Drug Test Results
Do all positive drug test results require a consultation by a MRO?
Yes, it is required for the Department of Transportation (DOT) test. It is also highly recommended for all other drug tests. Both the individual and client donors must talk to a Medical Review Officer (MRO) to confirm the positive drug test results.
The test is confirmed positive if the donor can not be contacted about the positive drug test results. A note is then attached to the drug test results indicating contact could not be established with the donor. Employers are only notified of positive drug test results after contact has been made between the donor and MRO, or if contact between the donor and MRO has not been completed after a certain amount of time.
